One of the most prominent actors in the Chinese language, Jin is also a noted playwright, and stage director from Taiwan. Jin is a founding member of Lanling Theatre Collective, Taiwan's seminal experimental theatre group from the late 70s and 80s. His 1980 play Hezhu's New Match was a milestone production that opened the door for experimental works in Taiwan and China. Jin is known as a longtime collaborator of Stan Lai, and has created many of the unforgettable roles in Lai's plays, such as the role of Jiang Binliu in the play Secret Love In Peach Blossom Land (1986), and the film of the play, among many others. Recent stage productions include Albee's At Home At The Zoo, Tuesdays with Morrie, and ART. Jin is also a well respected television and film actor.
