One of the greatest icons of Chinese language film, Brigitte Lin was a superstar of Mandarin films for over three decades. She won the Golden Horse Award for Best Actress in the movie Red Dust, and has starred in more than 100 movies during her illustrious career. Lin reached her career summit by appearing in well-known Hong Kong movies such as
Peking Opera Blues,
New Dragon Gate Inn, and
Swordsman II and
III. Her one stage performance was in Performance Workshop's
Secret Love In Peach Blossom Land, which created a sensation in 1991. She later starred in the film version by Stan Lai, which won many international prizes.
